Dan & Nicola | Rushpool Hall Hotel, Saltburn
I love capturing clients before their big day. This Rushpool Hall pre-wedding photo shoot was no different. I have worked with Nicola before and knew how crazy she could be.
Now I'm covering her wedding next month. I get the feeling its going to be a wonderful day for both her and Dan.
I believe in pre-wedding photo shoots. Many photographers charge for the privilege. However I offer them free of charge in all my wedding packages.
The reason I believe they are so important is because I feel clients should feel comfortable in front of the lens. Many people don't like the feeling of having their picture taken but want nice wedding photographs to keep for years to come.
Now in my experience, if the client hasn't had their pre-wedding photo shoot then on the day they look awkward whilst i'm trying to take their special day. It's almost like breaking the ice with the camera. It's also gives them more chance to get to know me and how I work. When they realise that the camera isn't going to bite, they relax. Which means on the wedding day, from the onset, they are relaxed and the camera captures natural shots.
I use quite a large camera, An Canon EOS 1DS mk3, this is quite daunting to look at. The pre-wedding photo shoot helps overcome that. I've toiled with swapping to a the Fuji system which offers equally as good quality images but their camera bodies are much smaller and less " in your face" but I feel like a bit of a traitor as I've been Canon since I was a very young age :) .
