Phil and Lisa | Rushpool Hall Wedding Venue

Another couple, struck by the pandemic tragedy. Simply changing the date of a wedding isn't and hasn't been an easy task for a lot of people. Trying to coordinate existing suppliers with each other and a new date can't of been what anyone dreamt their wedding day would be like, incredibly stressful too.

Phil and Lisa managed it though and their wedding day finally arrived. I usually focus (excuse the pun) on the bridal party and the bride, however Lisa had requested if I could hop
between her and Phil, Given that Phil was just getting ready on the lodges on site at Rushpool Hall , Of course this wasn’t a problem. It gave me chance to capture both sides of the story.

From getting ready at Rushpool Hall, the guys headed to the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Saltburn for their ceremony. These days its usually the norm to allow a wedding photographer to capture the ceremony from the front of any church or venue. unfortunately the monsenier wouldn’t allow me to take any images during the ceremony and I felt really restricted. Something I always find difficult as the Bride and Groom have paid me to capture their wedding day as much as they have paid the church, venue, registrars, vicar or monsenier to carry out their ceremony or blessing. Its like asking a plumber to come around and fix the kitchen sink but not allowing him into your home. Very frustrating at times but I always politely respect their wishes.

It was lovely to work with Lauren again from Unveiled wedding films , we've worked together for sometime now and seem to be able to work into each others workflow very easy.

This goes for the all staff at Rushpool Hall as well, I’ve worked there so often now, they know my flow I Know theirs, its like we all become one machine, a wedding machine if you will.
Working towards one common goal, making sure the wedding goes as planned and as smoothly as possible for the Bride and Groom.

All my clients and I have been lucky this year so far, the weather has been beautiful and sunny, or at very least, dry. The guest shots where straight forward which is just how I like them,
I hate holding the wedding up because a guest has decided they would prefer to go the bar than having their photograph taken with the bride and groom. It not nice on the coupe either
to be stood there for too long.

Once the guest shots are over I like to get any bride and groom away from the guests for a breather and a drink, some chill time before their wedding breakfast. This is where i do some relaxed and unposed bridal portraits.

I also like to do the confetti shot after the groups shots and bridal portraits, that way the Phil and Lisa wouldn’t be covered in confetti.

The lighting in Rushpool Hall is always nice no matter whatever the weather, There is always a area it use to grab those important relaxed shots of a bride and groom.

Being a wedding photographer is about observing and waiting for that one image. Take the dancing image above, because id stepped back for a few moments to observe, I saw Phil’s mum in the background starting to react to him and Lisa dancing. Camera to eye and wait of the opportune moment…….

Phil and Lisa had booked my for the full day wedding package, which means not only did they get a wonderful guest signature frame as part of the package, they also got me until the
first dance too. Eight hours coverage, which in most cases captures the main events of the day and the anything too late on the evening might not want to be captured!
