2020 Wedding Photography review

What a year for Wedding Photography

This has got to be one of the hardest blog I’ve had to write, in the 13 years of been a professional wedding photographer.

With Christmas time been and gone. The usual round-up blogs come to light. Reflecting on this year will be hard. Many businesses have seized trading, people have lost their homes, their cars. their jobs. Families have been torn apart by the viciousness of the ongoing pandemic.

Families have not been able to to grieve with the loss of loved ones or even spend precious time with their grand children.

It’s almost impossible to reflect on this years weddings. Weddings were couples were forced to choose their closest family members to attend their wedding.

Were emotion wasn’t allowed to be shown or in fact have time to be shown, hidden behind a mask.

Weddings have almost become a shot in the dark, a Russian roulette if you will.

15 Minute ceremonies, limited guests, social distancing. Even limited family photographs due to the social distancing regulations that the government have put into place. Definitely no reception and after wedding bash.

What still remains constant, throughout the handful of weddings I’ve captured this year and that is the, World War 2, resilience of each of the couples to carry on with their wedding. Asserting the momentousness that love conquers all, regardless of the restrictions and obstacles that have been put into place.

They made the best of a situation, carrying on with a hidden smile. Most of all the love that’s been shown to shine through in each couples eyes and their families eyes.

Love has no restriction and as the saying says - love will find a way!

Please stay safe everyone XX
